  • Mercury Space Missions: A History of Exploration
Yes, there have been two dedicated space missions to Mercury:

    * Mariner 10: This NASA mission, launched in 1974, was the first to fly by Mercury. It made three flybys of the planet and captured the first close-up images of its surface.

    * MESSENGER: Short for MErcury Surface, Space ENvironment, GEochemistry, and Ranging, this NASA mission launched in 2004 and orbited Mercury for four years, from 2011 to 2015. It provided a wealth of data about the planet's surface, composition, and magnetic field.

There is also a mission currently underway:

    * BepiColombo: A joint mission by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), BepiColombo launched in 2018 and is expected to enter orbit around Mercury in 2025. It consists of two spacecraft: the Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO) and the Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter (MMO).

So, there have been multiple successful missions to Mercury, and more are planned for the future.
