  • Understanding Eclipses: Solar and Lunar Explained
    This describes an eclipse.

There are two main types of eclipses:

    * Solar Eclipse: Occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, blocking the Sun's light.

    * Lunar Eclipse: Occurs when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the Moon.

While the term "eclipse" is most commonly used for the Sun and Moon, other celestial bodies can also experience eclipses. For example, a planet can cast a shadow on one of its moons.
