  • Newton's Solar System Model: Heliocentric Explanation
Isaac Newton's findings about the Solar System were heliocentric.

    Here's why:

    * Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation: This law, one of Newton's most significant contributions, explained how gravity works between all objects with mass. It showed that the Sun's gravity holds the planets in their orbits, not the Earth.

    * Kepler's Laws: Newton's work built upon the earlier work of Johannes Kepler, who had established three laws of planetary motion. These laws also supported the heliocentric model.

Geocentric models, where the Earth is the center of the universe, were proven incorrect by the work of Copernicus, Galileo, and later, Newton.
