  • Why Is There Night? Understanding Earth's Rotation and Orbit
The Sun doesn't appear in the night because of the Earth's rotation and its orbit around the Sun. Here's a simple explanation:

    * Earth's Rotation: The Earth spins on its axis, taking about 24 hours to complete one full rotation. This rotation is what causes day and night. As the Earth rotates, different parts of the planet face the Sun, experiencing daylight. The side facing away from the Sun experiences night.

    * Earth's Orbit: The Earth also orbits the Sun, taking about 365 days to complete one full revolution. This orbit is what causes the seasons.

So, during the night, the side of the Earth where you are located is facing away from the Sun. The Sun is still there, shining on the other side of the Earth, but we can't see it from where we are.
