  • Identifying Bright Stars Near the Moon: A Guide
It's impossible to say for sure what bright star you're seeing below the moon without knowing where you are and when you're looking. The position of stars relative to the moon changes constantly due to the moon's orbit around Earth.

To help you identify the star, please tell me:

    * Your location: Where are you observing from (city, state, country)?

    * Date and time: When did you see the bright star?

    * Direction: What direction in the sky was the star relative to the moon (north, south, east, west)?

Once you provide this information, I can try to identify the star for you using a star chart or astronomical software.
