  • Hubble Space Telescope: A Reflecting Telescope Explained
The Hubble Space Telescope is a reflecting telescope.

    Here's why:

    * Reflecting telescopes use mirrors to gather and focus light.

    * The Hubble Telescope has a large, primary mirror that captures light from distant objects. This light is then reflected to a secondary mirror, which focuses it onto a detector.

While Hubble is primarily a reflecting telescope, it also uses some lenses for fine-tuning the focus and for specific instruments.
