  • Eris: The Largest Dwarf Planet in Our Solar System - Definition & Size
The largest of the small bodies found in the solar system is Eris, a dwarf planet.

    Here's why:

    * Dwarf Planets: Eris is classified as a dwarf planet, along with Pluto, Ceres, Makemake, and Haumea. Dwarf planets are celestial bodies that orbit the Sun, have enough mass to be nearly round due to their own gravity, but haven't cleared their orbital neighborhood of other objects.

    * Size: Eris has a diameter of approximately 2,326 kilometers (1,445 miles), making it slightly larger than Pluto.

    * Other Large Bodies: While Eris is the largest dwarf planet, there are other large objects in the solar system that are smaller, like the asteroid Ceres and the moons of Jupiter and Saturn.

So, while there are other large objects in the solar system, Eris takes the crown for the largest of the small bodies.
