  • Stars Visible in Alice Springs: Why They're Invisible at Noon
You wouldn't be able to see any stars at noon on a cloudless day in Alice Springs, or anywhere else on Earth.

    Here's why:

    * The Sun's Brightness: The sun is incredibly bright, and its light overwhelms the much fainter light from stars during the day.

    * Earth's Atmosphere: Even if the sun wasn't so bright, the scattering of sunlight by the Earth's atmosphere would still make it very difficult to see stars during the day.

To see stars, you need a dark sky, which is why you can only observe them at night.
