The first image captured by the Hubble Space Telescope was of a star cluster called NGC 3532. This image was taken on May 20, 1990, just a few days after the telescope was deployed into orbit.

It wasn't a spectacular image by today's standards, but it was a monumental achievement for its time. It proved that Hubble was working properly and capable of capturing incredible images of the cosmos.
