* We're *in* the Milky Way: We live on Earth, which orbits the Sun, which is just one star in the vast collection of stars, gas, and dust that makes up the Milky Way galaxy.
* No spacecraft has left the Milky Way: While we've sent probes beyond our solar system, the nearest stars are still within the Milky Way. Even the furthest spacecraft we've launched, Voyager 1, is still within our galaxy.
* It's a long way: The Milky Way is enormous. Even traveling at the speed of light, it would take tens of thousands of years to cross it.
* We're still exploring: We're constantly developing new technologies and pushing the boundaries of space exploration. It's certainly possible that one day we'll have the capability to travel to other galaxies.
So, while we can't physically step outside the Milky Way right now, the possibility isn't entirely out of the question for the future. It's a fascinating question that fuels our curiosity about the universe!
