* Altocumulus (Ac): These are middle-level clouds that appear as white or gray patches, sheets, or rolls. They often have a rippled or wave-like appearance and can be arranged in lines, bands, or even lenticular shapes.
* Altostratus (As): These are also middle-level clouds, but they are more extensive and often cover the entire sky. They appear as a gray or bluish sheet that can obscure the sun or moon. They can sometimes be thin enough to allow some light to shine through, creating a halo around the sun or moon.
While these are the most common clouds found in this altitude range, other types of clouds can occasionally form here as well, such as stratocumulus and cirrocumulus.
