    The sun isn't blocked in a literal sense, but several things can prevent its light from reaching us:

    Natural Phenomena:

    * Clouds: Clouds are made of water droplets or ice crystals that reflect and scatter sunlight.

    * Fog: Similar to clouds, fog is a thick layer of water droplets near the ground that blocks sunlight.

    * Smoke: Smoke from wildfires or industrial activities can also obscure the sun.

    * Dust Storms: Large dust storms can block out the sun, especially in desert regions.

    * Volcanic Eruptions: Volcanic eruptions release ash and gas into the atmosphere, which can block sunlight and cause a temporary cooling effect.

    * Eclipse: A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the Earth, blocking the sun's light.

    Man-Made:

    * Buildings: Tall buildings can block sunlight, especially in urban areas.

    * Trees: Forests and dense tree cover can also block sunlight.

    Other:

    * Nighttime: The Earth's rotation causes night and day. During nighttime, the sun is on the other side of the Earth and its light doesn't reach us.

    It's important to note that while these things can block the sun's light, they don't truly block the sun itself. The sun is a star, and its light and heat travel to Earth through space.
