  • Venus vs. Jupiter: Which Planet Shines Brightest?
Venus typically appears brighter than Jupiter in the night sky.

    Here's why:

    * Proximity: Venus is the closest planet to Earth, and its proximity makes it appear significantly brighter.

    * Reflectivity: Venus has a very dense and highly reflective atmosphere, which bounces a large amount of sunlight back towards Earth.

    * Orbital Position: Venus's orbit is closer to the Sun than Earth's, so it often appears near the Sun in the sky. This means it can be visible in the evening or morning twilight, when the sky is darker, further enhancing its apparent brightness.

While Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and has a large surface area, its distance from Earth makes it appear dimmer than Venus.
