  • Proxima Centauri: The Closest Star & Its Location in Southern Constellations
The closest star to our Sun is Proxima Centauri, which is located in the constellation Centaurus.

While Centaurus is a southern constellation, it's important to note that Proxima Centauri itself is not visible to the naked eye. It's a faint red dwarf star, and its proximity to the much brighter Alpha Centauri A and B (which also make up the Alpha Centauri system) makes it challenging to spot.
