  • Venus: Earth's Brightest Planet - Why It Shines
The brightest planet visible from Earth is Venus.

    Here's why:

    * Proximity: Venus is Earth's closest planetary neighbor, which significantly contributes to its brightness.

    * Highly reflective atmosphere: Venus has a thick, dense atmosphere composed mostly of carbon dioxide and clouds of sulfuric acid. These clouds reflect a large amount of sunlight back towards space, making Venus appear exceptionally bright.

While other planets like Jupiter and Mars can also be very bright, they are generally farther away and thus appear dimmer.
