  • Weight vs. Mass: How Does Gravity Affect Object Measurement?
The measurement that changes when an object is taken from Earth to the Moon is weight. Here's why:

    * Weight is the force of gravity acting on an object's mass.

    * Mass is the amount of matter in an object and remains constant.

The Moon has significantly less gravity than Earth (about 1/6th). This means that an object on the Moon will experience a weaker gravitational pull, resulting in a lower weight.

Example: A 100 kg person on Earth would weigh approximately 16.5 kg on the Moon. Their mass remains the same, but their weight changes due to the difference in gravity.
