The Zodiac is an imaginary band of the sky that extends about 8 degrees north and south of the ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun across the celestial sphere. It is divided into twelve constellations, each associated with a specific month of the year.
While planets do appear to move through the constellations of the Zodiac, it is important to remember that they are actually orbiting the Sun, and the Zodiac is just a perspective from Earth.
