  • Lunar Oxygen: Exploring Potential Sources on the Moon
The Moon itself does not have an atmosphere and therefore does not have oxygen.

However, there is evidence suggesting that there might be water ice in permanently shadowed craters at the lunar poles. This water ice could potentially be broken down into hydrogen and oxygen through a process called electrolysis.

So, while the Moon doesn't have oxygen in its atmosphere, it might contain the potential for extracting oxygen from water ice in the future.
