  • Volans Constellation: Stars, Visibility & Characteristics
The constellation Volans, the Flying Fish, doesn't really have a set number of stars that make it up. Here's why:

    * Constellations are groupings of stars: They're patterns we humans see in the night sky, not official celestial objects with defined boundaries.

    * Star charts vary: Different star charts or catalogs might include different stars within the Volans region, depending on their brightness, size, and the purpose of the chart.

    * No official "membership": There's no official list of stars that belong solely to Volans.

    What you can find:

    * Brightest stars: Volans does have a few notable bright stars, like α Volantis (the brightest) and β Volantis.

    * Deep-sky objects: The constellation also contains some interesting deep-sky objects, such as the Volans dwarf galaxy (a small galaxy near our Milky Way).

So, while there isn't a fixed number of stars "in" Volans, it's a fascinating constellation with a few bright stars and some intriguing deep-sky objects to observe.
