  • Why Does the Sun Seem to Move Across the Sky? - Explained
The Sun doesn't actually move through the sky. It's the Earth's rotation that makes it *appear* as though the Sun is moving.

    Here's why:

    * Earth's Rotation: Our planet spins on its axis, completing one full rotation roughly every 24 hours. This rotation is what causes day and night.

    * Perspective: As the Earth rotates, different parts of the planet face the Sun. When your location is facing the Sun, it's daytime. As the Earth continues to rotate, your location moves away from the Sun, and it becomes night.

    * Apparent Movement: From our perspective on Earth, it seems like the Sun is moving across the sky because we're the ones moving (rotating) with the Earth.

So, the Sun stays in its position in space, but the Earth's rotation makes it appear as though the Sun is moving.
