  • Uranus: The Sideways Planet – Axial Tilt & Solar Orbit
The planet that is on a side axis as it travels around the sun is Uranus.

Uranus is unique because its axis of rotation is tilted at a whopping 98 degrees compared to its orbital plane. This means that it essentially rotates on its side, with its poles pointing almost directly at the sun. This extreme tilt is thought to be the result of a massive collision early in the solar system's history.
