  • Helium in the Sun: Formation and Creation Explained
Helium was not present in the sun in its original form. Helium is created in the sun's core through a process called nuclear fusion.

    Here's how it works:

    1. The sun is primarily made of hydrogen. This hydrogen is under immense pressure and heat in the sun's core.

    2. Hydrogen atoms fuse together. This fusion process creates helium, releasing a tremendous amount of energy in the form of light and heat.

    3. This energy is what powers the sun.

So, while the sun is mostly made of helium today, it was not present at the sun's formation. It was created within the sun itself through the fusion of hydrogen.
