  • Ceres: Exploring the Dwarf Planet in the Asteroid Belt
    The small, dense object that orbits the sun between Mars and Jupiter is Ceres.

    While it's often called an asteroid, Ceres is actually classified as a dwarf planet. It's the largest object in the asteroid belt and contains about a third of the belt's total mass.
