  • Sunlight Explained: What is the Sun's Source of Light?
The sun is not a form of light itself, but rather a source of light.

    Here's why:

    * Light is a form of electromagnetic radiation. It travels in waves and is characterized by its wavelength and frequency.

    * The Sun produces light (and other forms of electromagnetic radiation) through nuclear fusion. This process releases energy, some of which is emitted as light.

So, while the sun is not *light* itself, it is the primary source of light in our solar system.
