Anders Celsius: The Inventor of the Celsius Temperature Scale - History & Origin
The Celsius scale was invented by Anders Celsius, a Swedish astronomer, in 1742.
It's interesting to note that Celsius originally defined his scale with 0°C as the boiling point of water and 100°C as the freezing point. This was later reversed to the modern scale we use today.
