  • Lunar Landings: A History of Spacecraft on the Moon
Yes, spacecraft have landed on the moon. The first spacecraft to successfully land on the moon was the Soviet Union's Luna 9 in 1959.

Since then, there have been many other successful lunar landings, including:

    * The Apollo missions: The United States Apollo program sent 12 astronauts to walk on the moon between 1969 and 1972.

    * Luna series (Soviet Union): Several Luna probes made soft landings on the moon, collecting samples and conducting scientific experiments.

    * China's Chang'e missions: China has successfully landed multiple robotic probes on the moon, including Chang'e-3, Chang'e-4, and Chang'e-5.

    * India's Chandrayaan missions: India has sent two robotic probes to the moon, Chandrayaan-1 and Chandrayaan-2.

While these are some examples, there have been many other missions, both successful and unsuccessful, that have attempted to land on the moon.
