  • Acubens (α Cancri): A Detailed Look at the Binary Star System
Acubens (α Cancri, Alpha Cancri) is a binary star system located in the constellation Cancer.

The primary star, α Cancri A, is a subgiant star of spectral type A5m. It is a rapidly rotating star, spinning at a rate of about 150 km/s, and likely has a weak magnetic field.

The secondary star, α Cancri B, is a red dwarf star of spectral type M4. It is a much fainter and smaller star than the primary. The two stars orbit each other with a period of around 60 years.
