  • Claudius Ptolemy: The Geocentric Universe Model Explained
The ancient astronomer who developed a geocentric model of the universe was Claudius Ptolemy.

His model, outlined in his book *Almagest*, placed the Earth at the center of the universe with the Sun, Moon, and stars revolving around it. This model was accepted for over 1,400 years until it was eventually challenged by the heliocentric model proposed by Nicolaus Copernicus.
