  • Sun's Composition: Understanding Hydrogen and Helium
    The Sun is primarily composed of two gases:

    * Hydrogen (H): Around 70.6% of the Sun's mass.

    * Helium (He): Around 27.4% of the Sun's mass.

    While these are the most abundant, there are trace amounts of other elements, primarily in the form of heavier elements like oxygen, carbon, neon, and iron. However, these trace amounts are negligible compared to hydrogen and helium.

    So, while the Sun is a massive ball of plasma, it's essentially made up of two main gases.
