  • Uranus Speed: Orbital and Rotational Velocity Explained
Uranus is moving at two different speeds:

    * Orbital Speed: Uranus orbits the Sun at an average speed of 6.81 km/s (4.23 mi/s). This is its speed relative to the Sun.

    * Rotational Speed: Uranus spins on its axis at a speed of 2.55 km/h (1.58 mi/h) at its equator. This is much slower than Earth's rotational speed, and it results in a very long day on Uranus (about 17 hours).

So, while Uranus moves relatively quickly around the Sun, its own rotation is quite slow.
