  • Venus: The Solar System's Slowest Rotator - Why?
    The planet with the longest period of rotation is Venus.

    While it takes Earth 24 hours to complete one rotation, Venus takes a whopping 243 Earth days! This means that a day on Venus is actually longer than its year (which is 225 Earth days).

    It's also interesting to note that Venus rotates in the opposite direction of most other planets in our solar system, which is called retrograde rotation.
