  • Copernicus and Galileo: Did They Believe in a Geocentric Universe?
This is a great question that highlights a common misconception!

    * Copernicus did not believe that Earth was at the center of the universe. He is famous for proposing the heliocentric model, which placed the Sun at the center of the solar system with the Earth and other planets orbiting around it.

    * Galileo also did not believe in a geocentric universe. He was a strong supporter of Copernicus's heliocentric model and provided observational evidence to support it.

The idea that the Earth was at the center of the universe (geocentrism) was a widely accepted theory for centuries, based on the teachings of Aristotle and Ptolemy. It wasn't until Copernicus and Galileo challenged this model with their observations and theories that the heliocentric view gained traction.
