  • Alpha Centauri A: Our Sun's Closest Spectral Class Star
The closest star to our Sun that is in the same spectral class (G2V) is Alpha Centauri A. It's a binary star system with a companion, Alpha Centauri B, which is a bit cooler and smaller (spectral class K1V).

While Alpha Centauri A is only slightly larger and hotter than our Sun, it's still quite similar in terms of its spectral class and overall characteristics.
