Understanding the Sun: Our Solar System's Star and Its Temperature
The giant ball of hot gases in our solar system is the Sun.
While the Sun is the hottest star in our solar system (because it's the only star in our solar system!), it's not necessarily the hottest star in the entire universe. There are many, many stars out there that are far hotter than our Sun.
