John Glenn: Mercury vs. Gemini - Understanding His Spaceflight History
John Glenn was part of
Project Mercury. He was the first American to orbit the Earth, completing three orbits on February 20, 1962.
He did later fly in space again as part of Project Gemini in 1966, but his first spaceflight was with Mercury.
