  • Jupiter's Great Red Spot: Unraveling the Solar System's Largest Storm
The most prominent feature on Jupiter's surface is the Great Red Spot.

It's a massive, swirling storm that has been raging for at least 150 years, possibly even much longer. It's so large that it could fit two or three Earths inside it! The storm is actually a high-pressure region in Jupiter's atmosphere, with winds swirling around its center at speeds of up to 430 miles per hour.

While the Great Red Spot is currently shrinking, it remains an iconic and awe-inspiring feature of Jupiter, visible even through amateur telescopes.
