  • Eagle Nebula (M16) Star Clusters: NGC 6611 and the Pillars of Creation
The Eagle Nebula, also known as Messier 16 (M16), does not have a specific catalogued cluster of stars within it.

While the Eagle Nebula itself is a large cloud of gas and dust, it contains several star clusters, the most famous being NGC 6611.

NGC 6611 is a young, open star cluster located within the Eagle Nebula. It is responsible for illuminating and sculpting the iconic "Pillars of Creation" within the nebula.

Therefore, the Eagle Nebula cluster of stars is commonly referred to as NGC 6611.
