  • Jupiter Opposition: When Does It Rise?
When Jupiter is at opposition, it rises at sunset.

    Here's why:

    * Opposition: Opposition means Jupiter, Earth, and the Sun are aligned, with Earth in the middle.

    * Sunset: As the Sun sets in the west, Jupiter is rising in the east. Since it's directly opposite the Sun, it's visible all night long.

So, if you see Jupiter high in the sky around midnight, it's likely near opposition.
