  • Why is the Moon Invisible? Understanding the New Moon Phase
You can't see the Moon from Earth during the New Moon phase.

    Here's why:

    * New Moon: The Moon is positioned between the Earth and the Sun. This means the sunlit side of the Moon is facing away from Earth, leaving the dark side facing us. Since we can't see the dark side, it appears as if the Moon is completely gone.
