  • Understanding Shadow Direction: Why Shadows Point East When the Sun Sets
    When the sun is in the western sky, shadows stretch towards the east.

    Here's why:

    * The sun's position: As the sun moves across the sky from east to west, the direction of the light changes.

    * Opposite direction: Shadows always stretch in the opposite direction of the light source. So, when the sun is in the west, the shadows stretch towards the east.
