  • Solar System vs. Universe: A Scale Comparison
The solar system is incredibly small compared to the universe. Here's a way to visualize it:

    * Imagine the Earth as a grain of sand.

    * The Sun, our star, would be a basketball.

    * The entire solar system, including all the planets, would fit inside a football stadium.

Now imagine that football stadium as a tiny speck in a vast desert, that desert representing a galaxy. Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is home to hundreds of billions of stars, each with its own potential planetary systems.

And there are billions of galaxies in the observable universe, each containing billions of stars. So, the solar system is a minuscule part of an unbelievably vast universe.

It's impossible to truly comprehend the scale of the universe, but hopefully this analogy gives you a sense of just how small our solar system really is.
