  • Planets That Shine: Do Any Produce Their Own Light?
None of the planets in our solar system produce their own light. They all reflect light from the Sun.

Planets are large celestial bodies that orbit a star. They don't have their own internal source of light, like stars do.

Stars are giant balls of hot gas that produce light and heat through nuclear fusion. This is the process where atoms fuse together, releasing enormous amounts of energy in the form of light and heat.
