  • Big Dipper vs. Little Dipper: Which Constellation is Larger?
The Big Dipper is larger than the Little Dipper.

While the Little Dipper is part of Ursa Minor (the Little Bear), the Big Dipper is only an asterism (a recognizable pattern of stars) within the constellation Ursa Major (the Great Bear).

The Big Dipper is significantly larger in both apparent size and actual size due to the greater distance between its stars.
