  • Spacecraft Missions to Jupiter: A Comprehensive Overview
There have been 8 spacecraft that have visited Jupiter:

    1. Pioneer 10 (1973): First spacecraft to flyby Jupiter.

    2. Pioneer 11 (1974): Second spacecraft to flyby Jupiter.

    3. Voyager 1 (1979): First spacecraft to take detailed pictures of Jupiter's moons.

    4. Voyager 2 (1979): Took more detailed pictures of Jupiter's moons and atmosphere.

    5. Ulysses (1992): Studied Jupiter's magnetosphere.

    6. Galileo (1995-2003): First spacecraft to orbit Jupiter.

    7. Cassini (2000): Flew by Jupiter on its way to Saturn.

    8. Juno (2016-present): Currently in orbit around Jupiter, studying its atmosphere and magnetic field.

Note: Some spacecraft, like Cassini, only flew by Jupiter on their way to other destinations, so they don't count as dedicated Jupiter missions.
