  • Venus: The Bright Evening and Morning Star - Explained
The planet known as the "evening star" is Venus.

While it's not a star, Venus appears incredibly bright in the sky and is often mistaken for one. It gets its nickname because it's often visible in the western sky after sunset, shining brightly like a star.

Venus is also called the "morning star" because it can be seen in the eastern sky before sunrise.
