  • Polaris: Understanding the North Star and Celestial Rotation
The star that the other northern hemisphere stars seem to rotate around is Polaris, also known as the North Star.

While all stars in the sky appear to rotate due to the Earth's rotation, Polaris is almost directly above the Earth's North Pole. This makes it appear stationary, while the other stars appear to move in circles around it.
