  • Gibbous Moon Explained: Waxing & Waning Phases
    When over half of the moon is visible, it's called a gibbous moon.

    There are two types of gibbous moons:

    * Waxing gibbous: The moon is getting larger and brighter, moving towards a full moon.

    * Waning gibbous: The moon is shrinking and getting dimmer, moving towards a new moon.
