Here's why:
* The Moon: The moon is a natural satellite that orbits Earth. It's about 2,159 miles (3,474 kilometers) in diameter.
* Stars: Stars are giant balls of hot gas that produce their own light and heat through nuclear fusion. They come in a wide range of sizes, but even the smallest stars are significantly larger than the moon. Our own sun, a relatively small star, is about 865,000 miles (1,392,000 kilometers) in diameter – over 400 times larger than the moon!
So, while the moon appears large in our sky, it's actually quite small compared to the vast size of stars.
