  • Apollo 13: The Moon Mission That Returned Safely After Atmospheric Re-entry
The moon mission that burnt up in the atmosphere was Apollo 13.

While the crew of Apollo 13 did not land on the moon due to an oxygen tank explosion, they successfully returned to Earth. The command module, which housed the astronauts, was the only part of the spacecraft to re-enter the atmosphere. The service module and lunar module were jettisoned before re-entry to reduce weight and ensure a safe return.
