  • Stars vs. Moons: Understanding Size and Scale
A star is much bigger than the moon.

    Here's why:

    * Stars are giant balls of hot gas that produce their own light and heat through nuclear fusion. They come in a wide range of sizes, with some being thousands of times larger than our Sun.

    * The Moon is a natural satellite that orbits the Earth. It's a relatively small rocky body, about a quarter the size of Earth.

Even our Sun, a relatively small star, is 109 times larger than the Earth and 400 times larger than the Moon. So, a star is vastly bigger than the moon!
